The weeks of presenting chapters and explaining the material in detail brought together various groups and revealed their strengths and weaknesses. These presentations offered valuable insights I can confidently apply to my personal and professional life. Moreover, they helped me identify my areas of strength and weakness. After participating in these presentations, I now clearly understand what I need to work on and what I excel at.

To start it out, the Group 1 presentation, was conducted on September 7, 2023. To begin with, the PowerPoint was informal, with emojis and an out-of-order layout; the PowerPoint shown in class should be in sequence with the seriousness of the matter. I understand we must show creatively; however, it is a different story when it looks like no time was taken to make the whole presentation match. With the PowerPoint alone, I was genuinely disappointed because they could have knocked it out of the park, but it was an okay presentation. The level of confidence presented did not reassure me that they knew the material. It was more like reading off the PowerPoint without knowing the actual material they put into the PowerPoint. It was basically like a copy/ paste situation that was presented. I also noticed that many presenters needed to take the time to explain their corresponding slides. Adding pictures that did not correspond to the topic did not help either, especially when there was no information to support them.

From that said, Group One did a fantastic job describing things from the book by making each point precisely from the book. They also did a great job keeping the powerful, colorful, and exciting with all the emojis and photos. The PowerPoint was all right for the short time they had been in the class getting to know each other. They kept the time to a minimum while putting as much info as possible. With a little more time and communication, the presentation could have been flawless.

Moving on to Group 2's presentation, they exuded confidence, particularly in certain parts of the presentation. Their willingness to take more time helped the rest of the group that lacked charisma. The PowerPoint presentation had loads of information, emojis, and colors that kept the audience engaged. I appreciated how most of the presenters maintained eye contact with the audience, and it was evident they had studied the material because they did not need to look back at the PowerPoint presentation. The use of bullet points was impressive as they gave more detail than one bullet point, which showed that they cared about and had studied the material. I also liked that all the slides were in a pleasing view, and you could see their personality through the shade of pink they used.

On September 14, 2023, I attended a presentation that inspired me by the world of Barbie dolls. The presentation was way too casual for an educational setting, with pink as the primary color. Despite using colors, the presentation failed to engage the audience, and the energy could have been more consistent throughout. It was sometimes challenging to hear what the presenters were saying, even though they had a large microphone. Overall, the presentation had potential, but it lacked confidence and a professional touch that could have made it more successful.

In my experience as a member of Group 3, I observed that our teamwork needed improvement during our presentation on September 19, 2023. Rather than working together, we separated and worked independently, which made it challenging to put the presentation together cohesively. This caused us to fumble during our presentation, and one part of the PowerPoint was different from the rest because of a lack of communication. We struggled with making eye contact with the audience, especially myself, and I believe we could have done better if we had communicated more during the preparation period. Despite having plenty of confidence during the presentation, the lack of communication resulted in a messy delivery.

In the final chapter presentation, I was part of Group 3, and I must say it was the best presentation of them all. We exuded confidence and presented in a uniform manner. We had an excellent understanding of the material and delivered it well. Initially, we were not very close, but as we progressed, we bonded, and it reflected in our presentation. We incorporated various elements, including two videos, picture jokes, and empathy, which made the presentation engaging. We were able to connect with our audience effectively while applying all the textbook knowledge to the PowerPoint. Overall, it was a great experience, and we achieved our goal of providing valuable information to the audience.

In summary, the whole class had some excellent and lousy periods. I noticed that we all had the same issues all around the class. We need more confidence, communication, and stage presence. We also collectively did much good for being our first time presenting. Although we did a lot of reading notes or staring at the TV slash screens, we got our points through and through. We gave out as much information as we could. For the most part, we also got all of our presentations on time.

Overall, we all did a good job together collectively as a class. If we all help each other grow, we will all become pros at the presentation and communication aspects if we put in the work, such as applying the material and practicing our weak points. So far, this class has taught me so much about presenting and the different types of presentations. I learned the dos and don'ts of presentations. I learned what to say and how to practice my presentations. I cannot wait to learn as much as possible from this class and the rest of my classmates. I hope that everyone can learn something from me as I could learn from them. When it is time for all of us to go back up there and present, it will be much better and much smoother.
