The Journey to Public Speaking Mastery What I Learned from My Class Presentations
Hello there, and welcome to my blog! 🌟 Today, I'm excited to share some incredible insights I've gathered from my Public Speaking course. We've all been there, standing awkwardly, wondering what to say, how to say it, and wishing for the ground to swallow us whole. But fear not! After a few weeks into this course, I've uncovered some powerful secrets that have the potential to transform any nervous speaker into a confident orator. Let's dive right in! 🚀The Class Presentations: A Mixed Bag
Every student was tasked with creating a presentation based on chapters from our course book. What unfolded was nothing short of a learning festival. 🎓 Some presentations were memorable for their creativity and depth, while others were striking in their lack of coherence and structure.Group 1: A blend of creativity and lack of structure, including unrelated pictures and colorful visuals.
Group 2: Well-organized presentation with a balance of creativity and information.
Group 3: (My Group): Extensive preparation and creative effects but lacked teamwork.
What did they all have in common? They were learning opportunities for each of us. 🌱What Went Right and What Went Wrong
I saw presentations that had content but lacked form, and others that had form but lacked content. A few managed to strike the perfect balance, using engaging PowerPoints, maintaining eye contact, and delivering their message with clarity. As someone who's had her share of stage fright, watching my classmates made me realize that I'm not alone. 🤗Personal Lessons: A Revelation
When it was my group's turn to present, I'm sure it was nerve-wracking, to say the least. But my group had a trick up their sleeve, which was preparation. Yes, planning was vital, but it was also essential to leave some room for improvisation. By the last presentation, I had soaked up significant knowledge, which led to me being more confident, more organized, and more in control of my anxiety than ever before. 🌟
Well nice reflection. This is not 1000 words.
