"Mastering the art of public speaking"        "My experiences presenting in small groups"               An overview of iSpeak chapters!   Introduction:       These past few weeks, my classmates and I have been working on chapter summaries of the iSpeak textbook. Each chapter dove into a specific type of public speaking. For example, my section was chapter 11, persuasive speaking, in which was discussed ways to form a persuasive argument, what to look out for in persuasive arguments and many other important notes to start off my knowledge of public speaking.        This opportunity to be collaborative with my colleagues has made a difference in how I view public speaking and presenting to an audience. This assignment really eased me into the idea of public speaking and presenting work for others and makes me very excited for the future course work!   ...

In group one, they presented chapters one through four. In chapter one we had Jessenia, Rem, and Jaely which they all split. All of them did very well on their first presentation. Jessnia was the first one up and she spoke about Speaking Excites. What's the worst case scenario? Why study public speaking? Do people really speak anymore? Next up was Rem, who spoke about the seven components of the communication process which are Souce, Receiver, Message, Channel, Feedback, Situation and Noise. He also spoke about “Why is public speaking a unique form of communication?” and ”What topics should you talk about?”. Finally, Jaely finished off chapter one with  “What should you avoid in a presentation?”, “Becoming an effective speaker”, “Listening” and  “How to reduce your fear of Presentation”. Chapter two was presented by Matthew and Kevin. Matthew did the foundation of public speaking which is Invention, organization, styles, understanding and delivery an...

The weeks of presenting chapters and explaining the material in detail brought together various groups and revealed their strengths and weaknesses. These presentations offered valuable insights I can confidently apply to my personal and professional life. Moreover, they helped me identify my areas of strength and weakness. After participating in these presentations, I now clearly understand what I need to work on and what I excel at.     To start it out, the Group 1 presentation, was conducted on September 7, 2023. To begin with, the PowerPoint was informal, with emojis and an out-of-order layout; the PowerPoint shown in class should be in sequence with the seriousness of the matter. I understand we must show creatively; however, it is a different story when it looks like no time was taken to make the whole presentation match. With the PowerPoint alone, I was genuinely disappointed because they could have knocked it out of the park, but it was an okay ...

Presentations Group 1 What did I think about group ones presentation? Group ones presentation was was in honorably well written presentation. It states necessary facts about the necessities of PowerPoints how to wright them and good idea of how to group them. There group welly and firmly described what could happen with your nerves during the presentation, as example you could forget what your saying, you could faint or cry, they even come across to explain why should we study public speaking and why it is so important they gave reasons such as, life skills, democracy skills, and work and career reasons. They ask you questions throughout their presentation witch really get you thinking about the topic. Why is public speaking important? Do we really speak anymore? And answer them calmly and thoroughly with all the confidence they needed to get through the presentation. They also stated many facts such as the 7 components, they explained them well and knew how to perfectly answer a...
